Laura Sandoval

Postpartum Doula

I was drawn to birthwork when my mom shared the birth story of my older sister. My mami had immigrated from Mexico and didn’t have family by her side. She had no information about childbirth and was only told to “push.” She entered motherhood alone, in a foreign country, without a soothing presence who spoke Spanish, and without anyone to explain the birth process. She needed education, support, and someone who could speak to her in her own language.

Her story has been the driving force behind my birthwork. I will always strive to be the doula she deserved. I can’t go back and support her then, but I can support others now because of her.

After receiving my B.A. in psychology, I chose to train with Bebo Mia, whose program is evidence‑based, diverse, and deeply inclusive. I was credentialed as a fertility, birth, and postpartum doula, and I continue to learn so I can keep growing into the doula my mami needed. My focus has always been to ease the transition into parenthood and empower families to trust their instincts. Your best that day is enough.

Parenthood is a nueva vida — a new life — where a baby is born, and so are the parents. It is a transformative time, and challenges naturally arise. I’m here to walk beside you, hold space for your emotions, and remind you that you are not alone. You deserve care that uplifts you, affirms your choices, and surrounds you with love. I am here to nurture your entry into your nueva vida.
